Zapier is a no-code automation platform. You build 'Zaps', workflows that trigger when something happens in one app and then run actions in others, connecting the largest library of apps in the category without writing code.
Zapier's strength is breadth: it connects over 7,000 apps, more than any competitor, so it can automate the long tail of niche business software. A Zap starts with a trigger (a new email, a form submission) and runs one or more actions (create a record, send a Slack message), with Paths for branching logic, filters, and Code and AI steps for advanced work. Beyond Zaps, Zapier includes Tables (a database), Interfaces (simple apps) and Canvas (process mapping).
Pricing is per task, where each action step that completes counts as one task, so a multi-step Zap consumes several tasks per run. This makes Zapier powerful but pricier at volume than per-run tools. AI steps are now billed by model tier (1x, 3x or 5x), and MCP tool calls cost two tasks each.
The Free plan includes 100 tasks and two-step Zaps. Professional ($19.99/month annually) adds multi-step Zaps and premium apps; Team ($69/month annually) adds users, shared connections and SAML SSO; Enterprise is custom with unlimited tasks and users.
