Refreshingly simple project management
Straightforward project management and team communication tool.
A simple, opinionated project management and team collaboration tool with a distinctive flat-rate plan for unlimited users, from the makers of Ruby on Rails.
Basecamp is a project management and team communication tool built around a small, opinionated set of features: to-dos, message boards, schedules, docs, group chat and check-ins, organised per project.
Basecamp deliberately keeps things simple. Each project gets the same tools, to-do lists, a message board, a schedule, file and document storage, group chat (Campfire) and automatic check-in questions, so teams communicate and coordinate without complex configuration. Its philosophy favours calm, structured communication over feature depth.
Every paid plan includes the same features; you pay for team size, not to unlock capabilities. Clients and contractors can be invited to projects for free, and only internal employees count toward per-user billing.
Pricing is unusual for the category. Alongside a free plan and a per-user Plus plan, Basecamp offers Pro Unlimited: a flat monthly fee covering unlimited users, which becomes cost-effective once a team passes roughly 20 people. Pro Unlimited also bundles Timesheet and Admin Pro tools and far more storage.
Pro Unlimited charges one flat fee for unlimited users, capping cost as teams grow.
Only internal employees are billed; guests are free on every plan.
