Password manager for families and businesses
Password manager for individuals, families and businesses, with encrypted vaults, passkeys, SSO and developer tools.
A password manager for individuals, families and businesses that stores logins, passkeys and sensitive data in end-to-end encrypted vaults, with SSO, provisioning and developer tools on business plans.
1Password is a Toronto-based password manager. It saves, generates and autofills passwords and passkeys across devices and browsers, and lets people share items securely with family members, colleagues or anyone else.
1Password keeps logins, passkeys, credit cards, addresses, documents, SSH keys and API tokens in encrypted vaults. It autofills credentials in browsers and apps, generates strong passwords, and uses Watchtower to flag weak, reused or breached passwords and sites where two-factor authentication or passkeys are available.
Security is built on end-to-end AES 256-bit encryption, a Secret Key combined with the account password (two-key derivation), and the SRP protocol for data in transit. The company states it is SOC 2 Type II certified and independently audited. Travel mode can hide selected vaults when crossing borders.
For organisations, the Teams Starter Pack covers small teams at a flat price, and the Business plan adds integration with identity providers such as Okta, Microsoft Entra ID, OneLogin and Duo, user provisioning, custom groups, reports and event streaming to SIEM tools. Every Business user also gets a free Families plan for personal use. Developer features include SSH key and Git commit signing, a CLI and SDKs. Beyond password management, 1Password sells a wider access platform covering privileged access, SaaS management and device trust.
Vault data is protected by the account password plus a separate Secret Key, with end-to-end AES 256-bit encryption.
Flags weak, reused or breached passwords and sites that support two-factor or passkeys.
Business plans unlock with SSO and provision users from Okta, Entra ID, Google Workspace, OneLogin, Rippling and JumpCloud.
SSH key signing, Git commit signing, a CLI and SDKs for handling secrets in code and pipelines.
