ToolJet is an open-source low-code platform for building internal tools, dashboards and AI agents. You assemble apps from drag-and-drop components, connect to databases and APIs, and can generate apps from natural-language prompts.
ToolJet is a drag-and-drop internal-tool builder that competes with Retool and Appsmith. It offers a visual editor with pre-built components, a built-in PostgreSQL database with a visual table builder, connections to many data sources, and AI features including natural-language app generation and an agent builder for AI workflows.
Unlike Appsmith's permissive licence, ToolJet's core is AGPL: running a private internal instance is fine, but distributing a modified ToolJet as a product triggers copyleft obligations. The community edition is free to self-host with unlimited users.
Cloud pricing is builder-based (a builder is anyone who creates or edits apps) and added AI credits as a dimension in 2026. Free covers 2 builders, 50 end users, 2 apps and 100 AI credits. Paid cloud tiers, Starter, Pro and Team, raise those caps and AI credits; Enterprise is custom (starting around $3,000/month) with SCIM, custom AI models and air-gapped self-hosting.
The community edition is free to self-host with unlimited users (AGPL).
Only people who create or edit apps are billed as builders.
