ElevenLabs is an AI audio company. Its models turn text into speech, clone and design voices, translate spoken audio, transcribe, and power real-time voice agents.
ElevenLabs began as text-to-speech and now spans the audio pipeline: voice cloning, dubbing, sound effects, music and conversational AI agents (ElevenAgents). Everything draws from one shared credit pool, where roughly one credit equals one character of text-to-speech, while other products spend credits at their own rates.
Commercial use requires a paid plan; the free tier is for evaluation and requires attribution. Instant voice cloning starts on the Starter plan, and Professional Voice Cloning starts on the Creator plan. Agent minutes are included with every plan, with extra minutes billed per minute on top, and the underlying LLM and any telephony billed separately.
All models are available through the ElevenLabs API and SDKs, and paid plans add higher audio quality and, on higher tiers, multiple seats.
